Yes, it is possible. When we speak about happiness we could find so many definitions. For some people, happiness means being in peace with themselves, while for other means being successful and fulfilled. We all have a super important task to realize what makes us happy and ensure we do some things daily. Real happiness starts inside us, it is inner work and nothing can make us happy until we learn how to make ourselves happy. Believe it or not, our habits are very important. The things we do daily will reflect on the life we live. Below are 5 habits to implement today and start feeling happy each day.
- START YOUR DAY WITH THE SMILE AND POSITIVE ENERGY
The way how we start our day in the morning from the time we open our eyes is so important. Firstly, it sets the tone for the upcoming day and secondly, positive energy is contagious. Everything that happened yesterday we should leave behind and not let that energy flow into our new day. Each day is a new opportunity for a fresh start or to create something new, therefore there is no reason to have a ‘bad’ morning.
2. USE JOURNAL TO PLAN THE DAY AHEAD
We all have so many tasks to do daily, whether work or family-wise. Sometimes it can happen to forget something important, and that is ok, as we are just human beings. However to prevent that happens and ruin our day good thing is we can use a journal/planner and each morning while having our first coffee we can plan the day ahead. Journal is an amazing thing as you can put your thoughts on paper and plan all-day activities.
3. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY
Healthy body- a healthy spirit. Health is the most important thing in our lives. Remember some days when you were sick and in bed feeling awful. If you have had a ‘genie in a bottle’ what would be your only wish? I am sure you all respond the same. It is crucial to maintain our health and body. What we eat on a daily basis and how we take care of ourselves matters a lot. Luckily there is so many ways to do it. I understand that not every person is sport-oriented, however, even long walks or bike rides can be beneficial. Find some activity that fulfills you and includes it in your daily routine.
4. FIND THE TIME FOR A SELF-CARE
This can be anything. In order to keep your mind ‘clear’, you must find the time for yourself. Movie night with a glass of wine/ tea, hot bath, pampering time, exercise. Go shopping, book a massage, do something that you love. Each day ensure you find at least 30 min for yourself, read a book, do meditation, walk, breathe. Self-care is step number one to lifetime happiness.
5. BE GRATEFUL
Last but not least is gratitude. I left this for the very end because I think this is the most important habit in order to be truly happy. Every day we must ensure to focus on the good things in our lives and count our blessings. Honestly, there is plenty of things to be grateful for. I truly believe that word Thank you can change everything. We can start with simple things and be thankful for our home, the food we eat, friends we have…and step by step this list will become so long that we realize how blessed and lucky we are. Being happy is inner work and starts within us.
