How to Overcome The Challenges of Life

[Guest Post]

Hi, my names Olivia from olivialucieblake.com. I’m a lifestyle blogger that speaks on topics such as relationships, mental health, self-care and so much more. I’m so excited to do this collaboration with Zorana today. We have both decided to discuss topics surrounding overcoming different challenges. In my post I’ll be talking about how to overcome the challenges life brings, and over on my blog Zorana will be speaking about How to overcome criticism, fear & disappointment. Please go and check it out on my blog after you’ve read this post! Let’s get started!

Life can be hard for many different reasons. We are all on various different journeys and I think that’s the beauty of life. Not one story is the same as another. We face heart ache, mental health problems, sickness, death and various other challenges. But I think the hard stuff is what grows us as people and helps us develop. Please remember and consider the tips I’ll be sharing today are not a one size fits all. Some of these things will help others whilst they might not be of help to you, and that’s okay. We are all different!

FEEL WHAT YOU’RE FEELING

I am such an advocate for feeling your feelings. It’s okay to be upset, disappointed and annoyed. Emotions are human and are real to us. Being through hard times in my life that’s what I learnt, to feel whatever it is I’m feeling. It helped so much to heal and move on from the situation. Bottling up your emotions or ignoring them doesn’t mean they will go away; it means they’re pushed to the back. At some point they will come back to the forefront and it might take something small for them to show their faces again.

Think of it like a fizzy bottle of pop, if you fizz it up and fizz it up it is going to explode. Think of your feelings as the fizzy pop, you will explode if you keep shaking up the bottle.

REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT ALONE

There are 7 billion people on this planet, you are not alone in what you’re feeling and going through. Knowing this can help so much in knowing you aren’t the first and probably won’t be the last person to go through it. I know this doesn’t get rid of the feeling and the situation but it sure is comforting to know that there are others in the world that are facing and have faced it before.

CREATE A PLAN

How are you going to overcome this challenge? Are you going to let it sit there and are you going to dwell on it? Or are you going to do something about it and help it to motivate you? You have a choice when things happen, you can let it beat you or you can let it become the making of you. Have a plan, and I’m not saying you need to write it down in a calendar format – unless you want to of course. But have an idea of how you are going to more forward from your situation. Just doing this can help in giving you an end goal and something to look to, which can help so much in feeling better and moving on from what’s happened.

ASK FOR HELP

There is nothing wrong with asking for help when you are struggling. There are always people around you who are wanting and willing to help in your times of need. I always tell my friends and loved ones if they need me that I’m there, and I mean it. I’d rather my friends come to me when they are having problems. Who knows, the person you speak to might have gone through it too. Speak with people if you can, it can help get it off your chest and you can get valuable advice sometimes which you wouldn’t have gotten without speaking about it.

Thanks so much for reading, I hope these tips will help you in your challenging life situations! Please head over to my blog to read Zorana’s post!
